How It Works
The Lorem Ipsum Generator creates placeholder text commonly used in graphic design, web development, and publishing. Lorem ipsum text has been the industry standard dummy text since the 1500s, when an unknown printer scrambled a passage from Cicero's "De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" to create a type specimen book.
This tool uses a built-in list of Latin words to generate natural-looking paragraphs with varied sentence lengths. Each paragraph contains 4 to 8 sentences, and each sentence contains 5 to 15 words.
Options:
- Paragraph count — Set how many paragraphs to generate (1 to 100).
- Start with "Lorem ipsum..." — When enabled, the first sentence begins with the classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit." opening.
Lorem ipsum text is preferred over using real content during the design phase because it allows designers and developers to focus on visual elements like typography, spacing, and layout without being distracted by meaningful text. All generation happens entirely in your browser. No data is transmitted to any server.
