How It Works
The Strikethrough Text Generator creates crossed-out text by inserting the Unicode combining character U+0336 (Combining Long Stroke Overlay) after every character in your text. This combining character draws a horizontal line through the preceding character, creating the strikethrough effect.
Unlike HTML or Markdown strikethrough tags, this method produces actual Unicode text that works everywhere — social media posts, bios, comments, messaging apps, emails, and any platform that renders Unicode text. No special formatting support is needed from the platform.
Strikethrough text is commonly used to show corrections, indicate deleted content humorously, or add visual emphasis. It is widely used on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Discord, and other social platforms where standard text formatting is not available.
