What This Tool Does
This Social Media Image Resizer takes one source image and generates correctly-sized versions for every major platform. The workflow is: crop first, set a focal point, then export many sizes at once.
Crop First, Then Export
Instead of blindly center-cropping, you define a master crop to remove unwanted edges. This becomes the source for all generated outputs.
Focal Point
Click on the image to mark the important subject. When generating different aspect ratios, the tool keeps that point centered where possible.
Cover, Contain & Stretch
Cover fills the target canvas by cropping edges. Contain fits the entire image inside with padding. Stretch distorts proportions and should be used carefully.
Safe Zones
Some formats (Stories, YouTube banners, profile pictures) have UI overlays or circle crops. Safe-zone indicators help keep text and logos in visible areas.
Platform Presets
Dimensions are based on current platform recommendations. Social platforms occasionally change their specs. Presets include a review date for reference.
Export & Batch Download
Download individual images or all selected formats at once. PNG preserves transparency, JPEG is smaller but flattens backgrounds, WebP offers both.
Privacy

Is my image uploaded?
No. All resizing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API.
Why should I crop before resizing?
One crop does not fit every aspect ratio. Cropping first removes unwanted edges so the subject fills each format better.
What is a focal point?
The focal point marks the most important part of the image. When cropping to different aspect ratios, the tool keeps that point visible.
Can I adjust each format separately?
The master crop and focal point apply to all formats. Different aspect ratios are handled automatically by the focal-point-aware cover crop.
What is the difference between cover, contain and stretch?
Cover fills the canvas by cropping edges. Contain fits the whole image with padding. Stretch distorts the image to fill exactly.
Why does my image have padding?
Contain mode adds padding to show the full image without cropping. Switch to Cover mode to fill the canvas.
Why did part of the image get cropped?
Cover mode crops edges to fill the target ratio. Set the focal point on the important area, or switch to Contain mode.
What are safe zones?
Areas where platform UI (profile icons, buttons, text) may overlap your image. Keep important content inside the safe area.
Which formats for Instagram?
Square posts: 1080x1080. Portrait posts: 1080x1350. Stories/Reels: 1080x1920. Landscape: 1080x566.
Which formats for YouTube?
Thumbnails: 1280x720. Channel banners: 2560x1440 (with safe area).
Can I download all sizes at once?
Yes. Use "Download Selected" or "Download All" to batch-download all generated images.
Does JPEG support transparency?
No. JPEG flattens transparency with the background color. Use PNG or WebP for transparent exports.
Are the platform sizes always up to date?
Presets are based on current recommendations but platforms change specs occasionally. Each preset has a review date.
Can I add a custom size?
Yes. Enter width, height, and a name in the Custom Size section to add your own format.
